I am contemplating upgrading to a regular big block radiator or getting an aluminum radiator. If I go the aluminum route, it seems like Griffin and Be Cool are the 2 more popular brands.
Currently I am running a small block radiator but it was made into a 3 row so it's more efficient than standard but I need a bit more coolant. The cheap option is putting an electric fan in front of the radiator ( pusher) but I'm looking into other options.
What are are the 66/ 67 big blocks in the group running ?

| Be Cool and Griffin are name brands and very costly. I don't know anyone who has shelled out the money for one of those. The best rout is Aluminum and there is a guy in Potosi that makes them called portels. He made the one in Bob V's car. I also have one of his. it was a tight fit but it is in the car. Also there is a guy that sells them on e-bay dirt cheep. I have one of those too. His are American made with Chineese parts, Nice looking, same thing a little fitment problems but worth the savings. The griffins probably don't fit either. A pusher fan is next to useless on any radiator. |

as Geoff said above, I'm running a Portel's Aluminum in my car. Never had a over heating issue yet. The thing with Portel's is it is a side tank/cross flow. The Griffins are probably the best looking ones I've seen. They are Top tank and look kind'a stock (not just a flat square tank.) But they were twice the price of the Portels.

I don't see the aluminum in the chevelle area, but I know he makes them. It has his email to contact him. He was a very nice guy when I met him. |

Since I'm not worried about originality, I'm figuring I may go with a cross-flow system. I don't know how much better they are but I know they are more efficent over the up/down system.
